THE FALSE BAY HOSPITAL TRUST NEWSLETTER

MARCH 2021

Well done to Stephanie De Haas, the first winner (in Feb) of the False Bay Hospital Trust lottery draw and also to our second winner (March), Dr. Greg Jemmet! Please join our Golden Blue Club by donating R50 per month for a period of 1 year to The False Bay Hospital Trust and qualify for the exciting monthly draw and stand to win R1000!.

A huge thank you to our community for rallying to support our campaign to collect gift packages for staff at False Bay Hospital. We received many beautiful packages which were presented to staff  and made them feel acknowledged and immensely appreciated. The presentation of gifts coincided with the lovely tribute to the staff by “The drums and Pipes of the Cape town Highlanders”.

As the sun was setting, the highlanders made their way up the road to the staff entrance. The staff took in the beautiful sounds of the pipes and drums. It was a beautiful moment of hope.

Fear is the biggest obstacle in fighting this Pandemic. Fear of the unknown. We all need to walk through fear into a state of freedom. There is nothing we cannot overcome together as a community! Protect yourself, protect those you love and protect for the greater good”. Dr. Kaashiefah Adamson, Family Physician.

OTHER NEWS

  • The False Bay Hospital Trust is pleased to announce that it has partnered with Cape Medical response (CMR), to provide emergency medical transport to False Bay Hospital for individuals who need urgent and critical medical attention where the Provincial ambulance service is unable to assist in time, and where the patient cannot afford to pay private ambulance fees. FBHT has launched a special fund- Comfund for this purpose and any donations will be welcome.
  • It was a momentous week for the frontline workers at False Bay District Hospital in Fish Hoek as 100 vaccinations were distributed between 24 – 26 February 2021. Some of the staff trained to be vaccinators and were part of the team administering the injections to healthcare workers at Groote Schuur Hospital.
  • All of this would not be possible without the support of our primary donors: The Rolf-Stephan Nussbaum Foundation and Dawn Raimondo. Thank you for allowing the FBHT to grow and develop.

The False Bay Hospital relies on the dedicated support of  primary donors towards the operational costs of the Trust, so that 100% of all funds raised go towards the needs of the hospital.

Please consider supporting the operational costs for 2021/22 and become one of our primary donors. Your kind support and generosity is deeply appreciated.
